Love figuring out how ambitious creative ideas actually get made?
We're looking for a Midweight Technical Designer to join a brilliant creative studio working across spatial, experiential and design led projects.
This is a great opportunity for someone who sits comfortably between creativity and technical delivery, taking ideas and turning them into considered, practical and beautifully executed realities.
As a Midweight Technical Designer, you'll work closely with creative, production and project teams, supporting projects from design development right through to fabrication and installation.
You'll translate creative concepts into robust, buildable solutions, producing detailed technical drawings and 3D models while helping coordinate everything needed to bring projects to life.
Using Rhino and CAD, you'll create production ready drawing packages, plans, elevations, sections and technical details, working with architects, consultants, fabricators and suppliers throughout the process.
You'll also get involved in site surveys, materials, sampling, fabrication and installation, giving you exposure to the full journey from creative idea through to finished project.
You'll play an important role in making sure ambitious creative ideas can actually be built, without losing the original creative intent.
You'll help identify technical challenges early, find practical solutions and make sure drawings, specifications and production information are accurate and coordinated before projects move into fabrication.
You'll have the opportunity to work across a varied mix of creative and spatial projects alongside a multidisciplinary team.
You'll continue developing your experience across technical design, fabrication and installation, while having the space to contribute ideas and help shape how projects are technically delivered.
You'll ideally have around 3 to 5 years' experience across technical design, architecture, fabrication or a related field, with a strong background in 3D design.
You'll be confident using Rhino and CAD, with experience producing detailed technical drawing packages and interpreting architectural drawings.
You'll have a good understanding of materials, fabrication methods and how creative ideas translate into physical spaces, alongside experience coordinating with architects, consultants, suppliers and fabricators.
Experience across commercial interiors, environmental graphics, architecture, exhibitions or experiential design would be particularly relevant.
Knowledge of Revit or BIM would be a bonus, as would experience with document control and revision management.
Most importantly, you'll be detail focused, organised and solutions minded, with a genuine interest in figuring out how things work, how they're made and how they can be delivered brilliantly.
You'll join a collaborative and creative environment with hybrid working, a strong benefits package and plenty of opportunity to develop your technical expertise while working on interesting, design led projects.
