Job summary

Critchill School in Frome is seeking a Midday Supervisory Assistant to supervise children during lunch breaks. You may support a learner with eating meals or help encourage outdoor play, under the guidance of teaching staff.

The role is term-time only plus one inset day, 1 hour 30 minutes per day, five days a week. We value reliability, patience and a calm, empathetic approach with pupils aged 4–19 with complex needs.

Qualifications

• Reliable and flexible with a positive attitude.
• Able to work with pupils across ages 4–19 with additional needs.
• Experience or understanding of caring for children with additional needs is desirable.
• Calm, patient and empathetic in interactions with pupils and staff.

Responsibilities

• Supervise lunchbreaks for pupils.
• Support a young person with eating meals if needed.
• Engage pupils in outdoor play and activities.
• Work with pupils across the school under supervision of staff.

This may include supporting a young person with eating a meal or engaging young people in outdoor play.

Our school caters for pupils aged 4-19 years, with complex and severe learning needs. The successful candidate will be required to work with pupils across the school.
