Job summary

Braunstone Community Primary School in England is seeking a Lunchtime Supervisor to join a proactive, caring team. You will support lunchtime staff to provide high-quality care during lunchtimes and help create an active educational environment that enhances pupils’ learning and social skills.

The role is permanent and part-time, 7.5 hours per week across 38 weeks, with working patterns Monday to Friday, 11:20 to 12:50. An enthusiastic and flexible approach is essential.

Qualifications

  • Experience of working with children.
  • Empathy with and an understanding of children in the age range concerned.
  • Ability to be assertive when necessary.
  • Ability to understand and follow relevant procedures, e.g. health and safety, child protection (including issues regarding restraint), school behaviour policy.
  • Good interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise pupils in the area in which they eat their lunch and manage queues accordingly.
  • Assist and supervise the clearing away and tidying of the eating area and mop up spills when required.
  • Supervise /engage pupils after lunch, either inside or outside of the school building, with vigilance for health, safety and security.
  • Ensure good order and discipline, and manage disruptions as per school policy.

Salary: Grade 4 Pay Point 5-6 (£24,804 - £24,999 per annum, approximate starting salary of £4,201)

Hours: 7.5 per week, 38 week per year

Contract Type: Permanent

Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, 1.5 hours per day (11:20 to 12.50)

Braunstone Community Primary School Primary School have an exciting opportunity for a Lunchtime Supervisor to be a proactive integrated member of the school staff team, who will support the lunchtime staff to deliver high quality care during lunchtimes, creating an active educational environment which advances pupil’s learning and social skills. We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and flexible Lunchtime Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise pupils in the area in which they eat their lunch and manage queues accordingly.
  • Assist and supervise the clearing away and tidying of the eating area and mop up spills when required.
  • Supervise /engage pupils after lunch, either inside or outside of the school building, being especially vigilant as to the health, safety and security of the pupils within their care, and in accordance with the School Behaviour Policy.
  • Ensure reasonable behaviour and safe conduct of pupils by maintaining good order and discipline, dealing as appropriate (including restraint) with all incidents of disorder ensuring that any disruption is minimised.
