Dennington CE Primary School is seeking a Midday Supervisor to ensure the safety and welfare of pupils during the midday break. The role includes supervising meals, assisting with dining area cleaning, and supporting playground activities in a busy school environment.

The post is permanent, part-time (7.5 hours/week, 38 weeks/year), term-time only, with a Monday-Thursday lunch window andFriday splits. DBS check required; references obtained if successful.

Qualifications

• Role does not require specific software or qualifications beyond DBS check and basic safeguarding awareness.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety and welfare of pupils during midday break.
• Assist with supervision and table manners during meals.
• Clean up spillages and assist with dining area upkeep.
• Supervise playground and wet play times, ensuring safety.
• Support colleagues to promote school values and positive interactions.

Dennington CE Primary School is looking for a Midday Supervisor.

Role

To ensure the safety, general welfare and conduct of pupils during the midday break period. Basic cleaning and general duties in and around dining areas.

Main responsibilities and duties

• putting out chairs and tables

• supervising pupils at mealtimes – encouraging good table manners and helping infants to open packaging or cut up food

• cleaning up spillages and wiping down tables

• putting away chairs and tables and sweeping

• overseeing children in the playground or during wet play and monitoring the safety and suitability of activities

• following the school’s Safeguarding and Behaviour Policies to ensure that children are safe and have positive interactions with their peers and adults alike

• working alongside other adults in school including teachers, teaching assistants and senior leadership to promote the school’s values and ethos

• making sure children who are ill or injured receive appropriate medical attention and reporting accidents/incidents as required.

The position is subject to a satisfactory enhanced DBS check. If successful, two references will be obtained.
