Job summary

Irthlingborough Nursery and Infant School is seeking a Midday Supervisor to join our friendly lunch team. This permanent role runs 1 hour 15 minutes each day (12:10 - 13:25), Monday to Friday, during 38 weeks per year.

You should enjoy working with children, be caring, flexible, and able to work well in a team with good communication. Training will be provided, and you will contribute to our positive school ethos alongside staff, parents and governors.

Responsibilities

• Supervise pupils during lunch breaks and ensure a safe, calm environment.
• Support the lunchtime team and contribute to smooth meal times.
• Assist with any supervision or behavioural needs as required.
• Promote positive behaviour and be a friendly, approachable presence for pupils.

Job description

We are looking to appoint a Midday Supervisor to join our school lunch team at Irthlingborough Nursery and Infant School. This is a permanent contract.

We are seeking someone who:

• Enjoys working with children
• Has a caring personality and can empathise with children
• Has the ability to be flexible and use their own initiative to deal with different situations
• Can work as part of a team and has good communication skills
• Respects the confidentiality of pupils and staff
• Is happy to undertake training as appropriate for their duties
• Is willing to contribute to the wider aims and activities of the school

Hours of work: 1 hour and 15 minutes each day (12:10 - 13:25pm), Monday to Friday, 38 weeks per year. Please note that holidays cannot be taken in term time, but an allowance for holiday entitlement is paid accordingly.
