Job summary

Medeshamstede Academy is seeking a Midday Supervisory Assistant to join our team, supporting pupils aged 4 to 16 with lunchtime and playtime supervision. The role runs 11:30am–2:00pm, Monday to Friday (12.5 hours per week) and involves setting up the hall, supervising meals, and ensuring safe play during lunch.

Our academy serves 120 pupils, all with EHCPs, and we value a calm, supportive environment, positive engagement, and partnership with families and professionals.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting pupils in a school setting.
• Understanding of EHCPs and autism-focused needs.
• Ability to work as part of a team to support lunchtime and playtime activities.

Responsibilities

• Set up the hall before lunch and clear the hall after lunch.
• Support pupils during lunch periods and supervise playtime.
• Assist with safe, calm and structured supervision in a primary/through-age setting.

We are looking for a Midday Supervisor to join our team here at Medeshamstede Academy!

Medeshamstede Academy is an all through Academy for 120 pupils, aged 4 to 16. All pupils have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) for communication and interaction with a diagnosis of Autism as their main presenting need. Pupils may have associated difficulties, within the areas of:

• Cognition and learning
• Sensory and physical needs

Most of our pupils live within the City of Peterborough and some are from Cambridgeshire and other neighbouring counties.

Medeshamstede Academy are seeking to appoint a Midday Supervisory Assistant to join our team. This will include the setting up of the hall prior to lunch and the clearing of the hall afterwards as well as supporting our students with eating their lunch and playtime over the lunch period. Please see the attached specification for more details.

The working hours required are 11:30am - 2pm Monday- Friday (12.5 hours per week)
