Job summary

East Riding of Yorkshire Council is seeking a reliable midday supervisor to oversee pupils during the busy lunchtime period at Brough Primary School. The role requires initiative, the ability to work in a team and to engage with children across dining hall, playground and other school areas.

The successful candidate will ensure safety and wellbeing, support and supervise play activities, and adhere to safeguarding procedures. Part-time, term-time, 6.25 hours per week, pro rata annual salary.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Supervise pupils during lunch in the dining hall, playground and school premises, ensuring safety and welfare.
• Organise and supervise appropriate play and physical activities under the Senior Supervisor's direction.
• Follow school procedures for accident reporting and safeguarding of pupils.

About the Role

Successful candidates will:

• Supervise pupils during the lunch period in the dining hall, playground areas and school premises, ensuring the safety, welfare, physical and mental well-being of pupils and the maintenance of good order and discipline.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of children, providing emotional support where necessary.
• Arrange and supervise appropriate play and physical activities under the direction of the Senior Supervisor.
• Ensure that all pupils who suffer any injury or accident are dealt with appropriately in accordance with the school's agreed accident reporting procedures.
• Encourage all pupils to eat, and to assist children with cutting up food, etc where appropriate to e.g. age of child, need of child, as necessary.
