Job summary

East Riding invites applications for a Midday Supervisor at Thorngumbald Primary School. The role is part-time (8.75 hours per week), Monday to Friday, during term time, with a pro rata salary of £5,070 per year. Interviews Week commencing 23 November.

Enhanced DBS clearance is required to safeguard and promote the welfare of children. The successful candidate will build positive relationships quickly, maintain clear boundaries, and calmly handle challenging behaviours within a school setting.

Responsibilities

• Supervise pupils during lunchtime in dining hall, playground and school premises.
• Encourage good behaviour and resolve issues restoratively in cooperation with the team.
• Provide a safe, structured environment before afternoon lessons and report concerns to teachers.
• Undertake ancillary duties such as cleaning spillages and tidying tables to maintain safety and cleanliness.
• Administer basic First Aid for minor injuries as needed.
• Take on additional responsibilities aligned with the role.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

• Supporting a positive lunchtime experience by supervising pupils in the dining hall, playground, and school premises.
• Encouraging good behaviour and resolving any issues restoratively in collaboration with the rest of the team.
• Providing a safe and structured environment before afternoon lessons, feeding back any concerns to teachers.
• Carrying out ancillary duties such as cleaning up spillages and ensuring tables are tidy to maintain a safe and pleasant environment.
• Administering First Aid for minor injuries as needed.
• Undertaking any additional responsibilities that align with the role.
