Job summary

Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic First School is seeking a part-time Midday Supervisor to support pupils during lunch and break times. The role is based on school premises and runs 5 hours 15 minutes per week during term time (38 weeks per year).

You will help prepare dining areas, supervise pupils, assist with meals, and support positive behaviour in classroom and outdoor settings. Training and professional development are available.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the dining area for lunch by setting out chairs and tables.
• Supervise toileting and washroom activities.
• Escort children to and from the dining room.
• Supervise the collection of meals and assist pupils with cutlery.
• Clear tables and return used dishes and bottles.
• Oversee pupils eating packed lunches and ensure equipment is cleared away.
• Supervise classroom and outdoor activities and encourage inclusion.
• Ensure an orderly return to the classroom after lunch.
• Attend to minor accidents or pupils who feel unwell and provide care as needed.
• Report incidents to the Senior Midday Supervisor.

Job description

St Raphael the Archangel CMAT are looking to recruit a Midday Supervisor. This role will be based at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic First School. This is a part-time position, working 5 hours 15 mins per week, on a term time only basis (38 weeks per year).

The successful candidate will:

• Prepare the dining area for lunch, including setting out chairs and tables.
• Supervise toileting and washroom activities.
• Escort children to and from the dining room.
• Supervise the collection of meals and assist pupils with the use of cutlery.
• Assist pupils with returning used plates, trays, cutlery, and glasses/beakers, as well as clearing tables.
• Supervise pupils eating packed lunches and ensure all equipment is cleared away.
• Oversee classroom and outdoor activities, encouraging inclusion and positive interaction.
• Ensure an orderly return to the classroom after lunch.
• Attend to minor accidents or pupils who feel unwell, providing care as needed.
• Report to the Senior Midday Supervisor (SMDS) if an accident occurs or a pupil becomes ill.
• Monitor pupil behaviour and intervene as necessary, in line with the school’s behaviour policy.
• Inform the SMDS of any breaches of school rules.
• Candidates must enjoy working with children.
