Green Lane Community Special School in Woolston, Warrington, is seeking a friendly Midday Assistant to support pupils from Reception to Year 11 during lunch breaks.

You will help supervise students in the dining hall and on the playground, assist with any personal care needs, and contribute to a safe, caring environment under safeguarding procedures.

This permanent, term-time only role requires empathy, reliability and a commitment to helping children with complex learning needs.

About us

We are an all-age (4-16), mixed school, for children with Moderate, Severe and Complex Learning Difficulties, including Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

This is a very exciting opportunity for the right candidates within a school that was judged to be ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted in its last five consecutive Ofsted Inspections and which is committed to providing the highest quality provision for all of its pupils.

The school is designated as a Specialist School for Cognition and Learning and has been recently accredited by the National Autistic Society as an Advanced Accredited School

The role

We require caring people to join our team of Midday Assistants helping the children from Reception to Year 11 during lunch time.

The position involves the general supervision of pupils to and from the dining hall and/or classrooms and other designated areas, as well as assisting with the supervision of pupils whilst they are eating.

The role also involves supervising pupils on the playground and undertaking appropriate playground activities. Some pupils have personal care needs and therefore the position may involve assisting with any personal care needs. Advice, guidance and training on working with children will be given.
