Job summary

St Bart’s Multi Academy Trust in partnership with Hungerford Primary Academy invites applications for a friendly, reliable team member to supervise pupils during the midday break. The role focuses on safety, good conduct and welfare, while promoting healthy eating and positive behavior within the dining area.

You'll join a supportive staff team and work under the direction of the Senior Leadership Team, with clear safeguarding duties and opportunities to develop in a thriving primary school

Qualifications

• Supervise pupils during the midday break.
• Report incidents in line with school policy.
• Assist in supervising other activities during breaks.
• Encourage pupils to select and eat healthy balanced meals.
• Clean up spillages during meal service.
• Wipe down tables and clean dining areas.
• Undertake similar work before/after school as needed.
• Promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young people.

Responsibilities

• Supervise midday break activities and ensure pupil safety and conduct.
• Log and report incidents following school policy.
• Assist with equipment handling and setting out during breaks.
• Encourage healthy meal choices and proper dining etiquette.
• Keep dining areas clean and safe during service.
• Assist with post-meal cleaning of tables and areas.
• Support other duties before/after school as required.
• Uphold safeguarding policies and report concerns promptly.

Job Purpose

To work as part of a team monitoring pupil behaviour during the midday break.

Key Duties / Responsibilities

1. Supervise activities and maintain the health, safety, welfare, good conduct and safeguarding of pupils during the midday break, having regard to special or additional needs
2. Report incidents in line with school policy
3. Assist in the supervision of other activities during the midday break, including setting out and storing equipment
4. Encourage pupils to select and eat healthy balanced meals
5. Clean up spillages of food or liquid during meal service
6. Wipe down tables and clean dining areas between meals
7. Undertake similar work at other times, such as before and after school
8. Be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people within the academy, raising any concerns following academy protocol/procedures
9. Any other duties appropriate to the post.
