Job summary

Kingsland CofE Academy, part of St Bart’s Multi Academy Trust, is seeking a motivated individual to monitor pupil behaviour during the midday break. You will work with a caring team to support safety and wellbeing, reporting incidents and helping with meals and activities.

The role emphasises safeguarding, healthy routines, and teamwork, within a supportive Trust culture that values professional development, wellbeing resources, and staff recognition.

Qualifications

  • Experience in safeguarding and child welfare.
  • Ability to report incidents in line with school policy.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and follow academy protocols.
  • Commitment to promoting pupil wellbeing and health.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise pupil activities and maintain health, safety, welfare and safeguarding during the midday break.
  • Report incidents in line with school policy.
  • Assist in supervising other midday activities and prepare/stow equipment.
  • Encourage healthy meal choices and assist with meals where needed.
  • Clean up spillages and maintain dining areas between meals.
  • Promote and safeguard the welfare of pupils within the academy.
  • Undertake similar duties before or after school as required.
  • Be an ambassador for safeguarding throughout the academy.

Job Purpose

To work as part of a team monitoring pupil behaviour during the midday break.

Key Duties / Responsibilities
  1. 1. Supervise activities and maintain the health, safety, welfare, good conduct and safeguarding ofpupils during the midday break, having regard to special or additional needs
  2. 2. Report incidents in line with school policy
  3. 3. Assist in the supervision of other activities during the midday break, including setting out and storingequipment
  4. 4. Encourage pupils to select and eat healthy balanced meals
  5. 5. Clean up spillages of food or liquid during meal service
  6. 6. Wipe down tables and clean dining areas between meals
  7. 7. Undertake similar work at other times, such as before and after school
  8. 8. Be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people within theacademy, raising any concerns following academy protocol/procedures
  9. 9. Any other duties appropriate to the post.
