Job summary

NFU Mutual in the North East is seeking a Development Underwriter to work with the General Insurance Sales Force and Service Centre. You will help identify and secure mid-market business, underwriting your own caseload of property and liability risks, while providing technical direction on underwriting strategy and risk appetite.

You will operate in a field-based role, traveling to client visits as required and coordinating with cross-divisional teams to grow gross written premium and deliver

Qualifications

• Property & liability mid-market underwriting experience.
• Proven ability to develop new business.
• Strong relationship-building and communication skills.
• Experience leading discussions and influencing decisions with integrity.

Responsibilities

• Identify and develop new mid-market opportunities for NFU Mutual.
• Underwrite a personal caseload with a whole-account approach.
• Collaborate with Agency Network and Sales Force to drive growth and profitability.
• Provide technical underwriting guidance and adherence to risk appetite.
