Job summary

Suade is seeking a Midlevel Software Engineer to help translate regulatory requirements into robust software systems for financial institutions. You will work in a fast-growing regtech SaaS environment with a strong emphasis on code quality and scalable architecture.

Based in London, you’ll contribute to product delivery using Python, Git, and modern testing practices while collaborating with non-technical stakeholders and agile teams. Some travel may be required.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of relevant experience with Python.
• Experience collaborating with non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience with unit tests and automated testing.
• Exposure to large codebases with multiple authors and timelines.
• Familiarity with agile frameworks like Kanban or Scrum.
• Comfortable using Unix-based OS (e.g. Ubuntu).

Responsibilities

• Translate business requirements into technical specifications within the RegTech team.
• Contribute to delivery of the product roadmap and ship code for customers.
• Grow coding skills and become a portfolio owner within the team.
• Collaborate with engineers to build and refine the platform architecture.
• Contribute ideas to platform architecture and see implementations.
• Participate in design reviews to keep the product current.
• Promote best practices like TDD and code analysis.
• Consider non-functional requirements such as performance and security.

The Midlevel Software Engineer role is for you if you are an experienced software engineer with a love of systemising and codifying real-world problems. Salary: £50,000 to £65,000 based on experience

Responsibilities

• As part of the RegTech team, you will use yourexpertisein software engineering to translate business requirements into technical specifications and lead the architecture,developmentand expansion of our regulatory portfolio. You will work closely with our Project Managers and Business Analysts, and you will build upon your experience to:
• Contribute to the delivery of ourproduct roadmap,shipping code that our customersmaybeusingto solvetheir regulatoryproblemsthe same day.
• Grow yourcodingskills and domain knowledge, and become responsible for part ofour portfolio, becoming the internal reference within the team.
• Collaborate with other engineerswho are as passionate as you are about stopping the nextfinancialcrisis.
• Contributenew ideasto the architecture of the platform and see some of those ideas implemented.
• Understand the main problems that we are solving with our product. Participate in internal reviews and design sessions to keep our product up to date.
• Drive the adoption and use of best practices like TDDandcode analysis
• Be aware of and consider non-functional requirements like performance, security, maintainability.

Skills and Experience

• 3 - 5years’relevant experience workingwithPython

• Practical experience working collaboratively using version control systems like Git and platforms like GitHub or GitLab

• Experience working with non-technical stakeholders, businessrequirements, and ambiguity

• Experience with unit tests, automatedtestingandknowledge of best practices

• Exposure to large codebases involving multiple authors,featuresand timelines

Desirable

• Comfortable using a Unix-based operating system (e.g. Ubuntu)

• Experience working in agile frameworks like Kanban or Scrum

• Experience improving or refactoring existing code as requirements change

• ABachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or Engineering

• Personal, academic, or internship projects involving scripting, automation, or data handling
