Calibre Search is seeking an Intermediate Mechanical Design Engineer to join a renowned Building Services consultancy. The role spans concept to construction, with exposure to healthcare, education, commercial and residential sectors.

You will deliver mechanical building services designs, calculations, and drawings, contributing to sustainable, low-carbon solutions. You will work with experienced engineers, developing technical expertise and progressing toward Senior Engineer.

Qualifications

• 3–4 years' experience in mechanical building services design.
• Experience in building services or M&E consultancy environment.
• Good understanding of HVAC, heating, ventilation and domestic water systems.
• Experience undertaking mechanical design calculations.
• Ability to produce technical drawings, specifications and design documentation.

Responsabilités

• Develop mechanical building services designs across a varied project portfolio.
• Design heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), domestic water and associated mechanical systems.
• Undertake engineering calculations, including heating and cooling loads, ventilation rates and pipe sizing.
• Produce mechanical design drawings, specifications, technical reports and equipment schedules.
• Assist with plant and equipment selection and specification.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant British Standards, Building Regulations and CIBSE guidance.
• Coordinate designs with electrical, structural and architectural disciplines.
• Support senior engineers with technical reviews, tender documentation and construction-stage queries.
• Liaise with clients, contractors and other design professionals.
• Contribute to sustainable, energy-efficient and low-carbon design solutions.
