Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Business Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst within the insurance industry, preferably with exposure to the London Market, though this is not mandatory.

The Business Analyst will write and communicate specifications based on business requirements, clarifying and providing examples where necessary. They will handle multiple requests, evaluate them in detail (MoSCoW), and prepare and present recommendations on productization, working collaboratively with UI/UX, developers, QA, and key stakeholders. Additionally, they will mentor junior team members, offering support and sharing expertise.

Responsibilities
  • Develop understanding of platform functionality, with specialized knowledge in certain areas of the product.
  • Analyze business processes, functions, and procedures to determine effective business systems and technology solutions.
  • Provide detailed knowledge and rationale for user cases during design and requirements gathering, leading workshops with minimal support from senior analysts.
  • Translate business requirements into functional requirements in collaboration with colleagues.
  • Support and review work of junior analysts within the project team.
  • Provide accurate estimates to Lead Analysts/Project Managers.
  • Communicate with Lead Analysts/PMs regarding escalations and problem resolution.
  • Gather, analyze, and document business requirements with stakeholders.
  • Produce user stories and requirements documentation with clear understanding of needs.
  • Work closely with development and product teams to ensure requirements are properly implemented.
  • Address questions and clarify vagaries during development.
  • Review test coverage with QA, guiding on defect criticality related to requirements.
  • Assist in user acceptance testing and support clients through to BAU.
  • Participate in testing to ensure system functionality and facilitate iterative improvements.
  • Conduct training for clients and team members on complex areas.
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in the insurance industry.
  • Experience in the London Market is highly desirable.
  • Strong technical skills, especially in JSON or other coding languages, are advantageous.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Experience with Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
  • Proficiency in requirements gathering, use case development, and documentation.
  • Understanding of project lifecycle and testing principles.
  • Mentoring experience is a plus.
