Job summary

The RAC is seeking a Mid‑Level Backend Software Engineer to join its Digital Product and Technology team in Bristol. You will design, build and evolve systems powering our digital services, using .NET Core, C#, SQL, Azure and Kubernetes to deliver scalable, high‑quality solutions.

This hybrid role combines 2 days a week in our Bradley Stoke office with 3 days remote, offering flexibility and a collaborative environment in a company trusted by millions of members.

Qualifications

• Experience building backend services with .NET Core and C#.
• Strong knowledge of SQL databases and data modelling.
• Hands-on experience deploying to Microsoft Azure and using Kubernetes.
• Ability to work in a collaborative, hybrid environment and own work end-to-end.
• Proactive problem solver with strong communication and ownership.

Responsibilities

• Develop high quality backend software and architecture.
• Troubleshoot operational and integration issues promptly.
• Write clean, maintainable code and promote best practices.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate requirements into technical design.
• Estimate work, manage technical debt, and deliver value consistently.
