Qualifications

• Ability to operate laboratory instrumentation post-training.

• Experience with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) preferred.

Job Description

1. Communicate professionally with all co-workers regarding any discrepancies or queries, ensuring emails are addressed promptly or within a reasonable timescale.
2. Sort samples and ensure they match the relevant paperwork.
3. Prepare and analyze all samples accurately and efficiently.
4. Record all samples correctly into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
5. Prepare dry culture media following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
6. Understand and adhere to provided SOPs.
7. Maintain Cawood's credibility by keeping equipment and PPE clean and in good condition.
8. Respect company equipment, using it according to guidelines, and report any damage to management promptly.
9. Work collaboratively as a team, maintaining morale and offering help and assistance whenever possible.
10. Prioritize safety in all laboratory activities, proactively reporting accidents and near misses to managers in line with company policies and accreditation standards.
11. Assist with on-site training of new employees, providing proactive support to ensure a friendly, engaging, and inspiring onboarding experience.
12. Operate instrumentation such as balances, incubators, autoclaves, preparators, dilumats, and pipettes after successful training.
