Job Description:

Andersen Caledonia is a fast-growing life sciences company specialising in sterilisation and laboratory testing for the medical device, pharmaceutical, and healthcare industry. We are seeking an enthusiastic and driven individual to join our microbiology laboratory department located in Dunston, Staffordshire ST18 9FJ.

Normal Working Hours: Tuesday-Saturday 09:00-17:00

The successful candidate will be expected to:

• Assist the laboratory management in all aspects of compliance with relevant technical and quality standards in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025:2017
• Perform routine microbiological and chemical analyses & the associated tasks following relevant standards and company SOPs

Responsibilities:

• Perform microbiological & chemical testing using various analytical techniques according to standards and SOPs
• Ensure proper documentation for all samples to facilitate accurate and timely processing
• Prepare and publish customer reports and provide follow-up support as needed
• Prepare media & perform Media QC
• Carry out goods received procedures
• Perform IQC according to the accredited IQC Procedure and periodic EQA as required
• Ensure calibration, daily checks, and maintenance are performed per company procedures and UKAS accreditation
• Support the daily operation of the lab and specific test requirements based on customer demands

Qualifications:

Educated to a degree level in a relevant scientific discipline or qualified within a scientific field

Experience:

Minimum of 1 year experience in a commercial laboratory
