Job Description:

Andersen Caledonia is a fast-growing life sciences company specializing in sterilization and laboratory testing for the medical device, pharmaceutical, and healthcare industries. We are seeking an enthusiastic and driven microbiology laboratory technician to join our department located in Dunston, Staffordshire ST18 9FJ.

Normal Working Hours: Tuesday-Saturday 09:00-17:00

The successful candidate will be expected to:

• Assist laboratory management in ensuring compliance with relevant technical and quality standards in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025:2017
• Perform routine microbiological and chemical analyses following relevant standards and company SOPs

Responsibilities:

• Conduct microbiological and chemical testing using various analytical techniques according to standards and SOPs
• Maintain accurate documentation for all samples received to ensure proper processing
• Prepare and issue customer reports and provide follow-up support as needed
• Prepare media and perform Media QC
• Carry out goods received procedures
• Perform IQC according to the accredited IQC Procedure and conduct periodic EQA as required
• Ensure calibration, daily checks, and maintenance are performed per company procedures and UKAS accreditation requirements
• Support daily laboratory operations and specific testing needs based on customer demands

Qualifications:

Degree in a relevant scientific discipline or equivalent qualification

Experience:

Minimum of 1 year experience in a commercial laboratory
