Job summary

Magna Specialist Confectioners Ltd in Telford is seeking a Microbiology Laboratory Technician to join the team and support product safety and site hygiene. You will test raw materials, finished products, environmental swabs and water, with comprehensive training provided for all levels of experience.

The role involves following procedures, maintaining hygiene standards and assisting audits while working closely with Production and QA to safeguard quality across the site.

Qualifications

• Follow documented procedures accurately and consistently.
• Prioritise workload to testing schedules and production requirements.
• Clear communication with laboratory, production and QA colleagues.
• Adapt to a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Collect, prepare and analyse microbiological samples from raw materials, finished products, water, equipment and production environment.
• Record, verify and trend results, escalating out-of-spec results and adverse trends promptly.
• Carry out routine lab operations including media preparation, incubator checks and stock control.
• Maintain high standards of laboratory hygiene and comply with GLP, GMP and COSHH.
• Support audits, customer visits, investigations and traceability exercises.
• Collaborate with Production and Quality Assurance to maintain site standards.
