Job summary

Public Health Wales in Galngwilli Hospital is seeking a Biomedical Support Worker to contribute to microbiology services. You will participate in routine laboratory tasks, support diagnostics, and maintain equipment as part of a dedicated laboratory team.

The role involves working on a rota that includes weekday, weekend and bank holiday shifts. Welsh language skills are desirable, and we welcome Welsh or English speakers to apply.

Qualifications

• Adherence to Health and Safety practices and SOPs.
• Ability to work with Biomedical Scientists as part of the team.
• Welsh language is desirable; Welsh/English speakers welcome.

Responsibilities

• Participate in routine laboratory tasks: quality control, specimen processing, equipment maintenance, and waste disposal.
• Operate automated equipment and perform clerical duties as required.
• Support microbiology diagnostic services in conjunction with BMS staff and lab team.
• Work on a rota including weekdays, weekends and bank holidays.
