Job summary

Public Health Wales in North Wales is recruiting for Higher Biomedical Support Workers to join our microbiology laboratories across Gwynedd, Clwyd and Wrexham Maelor sites. The role involves handling patient samples, data input, specimen reception, and operating lab equipment within ISO 15189 accredited facilities.

We value motivated individuals with good communication, initiative and a willingness to learn, in a full-time, permanent post.

Qualifications

• GCSEs including English and Maths or equivalent qualifications.
• Experience in a role with laboratory skills.
• Willingness to learn new tasks and work in a microbiology setting.

Responsibilities

• Data input, specimen reception, and labelling of patient samples.
• Processing of samples on different laboratory sections.
• Operation of laboratory sterilisers and automation equipment.
• Stock control and receipt of deliveries.
