Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in Preston is recruiting a Medical Laboratory Assistant to join the Microbiology team. The role involves processing specimens, supporting Biomedical Scientists, and working to tight turnaround times in a UKAS accredited lab.

Experience is not required as training is provided; the post supports a 24/7 service with a shift rota including nights, weekends and bank holidays.

Qualificações

• GCSEs with Maths, English and a Science subject.
• RSA II qualification.
• NVQ2 in Clinical Support or equivalent.

Responsabilidades

• Communicate effectively with clinical and laboratory staff and external clients.
• Answer the telephone clearly and log results.
• Assist in verbal and written communication.
• Utilise information technology for specimen processing and booking.
• Be flexible to work on a shift rota including nights and weekends.
• Order stock from Main Stores and supply to wards and GP practices.
• Ensure correct specimens are collected and prepared for investigations.
