• Communicate with clinical and laboratory staff and external clients in a professional manner.
• Answer the telephone clearly and log results.
• Use information technology for written and verbal communication.
• Work on a shift rota covering 24 hours, seven days a week.
• Order stock from Main Stores to maintain adequate supplies.
• Supply stock to Wards/Departments and GP practices promptly.
• Check specimens are collected under appropriate conditions for investigations.
