Job description

Role Purpose:

Working with the Head of MI Development to deliver high-quality data management across Markerstudy. Responsible for providing meaningful management information data to support improved financial and operational performance, managing technical solutions, and BAU support.

Act as a mentor to junior team members, utilizing advanced system knowledge to develop the team, and ensure adherence to FSA, TCF, GDPR regulations, including mandatory e-learning.

Responsibilities:
  1. Support the Head of MI Development in building, maintaining, and improving the MISL data warehouse.
  2. Model and transform data from new sources to support the growth of the Markerstudy brand, using data modelling techniques to normalise and integrate data sources for business benefit.
  3. Proactively develop ideas and relationships to support departmental data initiatives and inform strategic business decisions.
  4. Assist with migration to SAS Viya and leverage new technologies to enhance ETL processes.
  5. Review and improve data processing methods for efficiency and performance.
  6. Advocate for data governance activities, policies, and procedures.
  7. Drive continuous improvement in data quality standards.
  8. Resolve data issues by identifying root causes and implementing sustainable solutions.
  9. Prioritize data risks and report accordingly.
  10. Ensure daily data processing is completed on time with no failures.
  11. Possess previous experience in a DW or BI role.
  12. Have essential experience coding in SAS and SAS macros, SAS DI Studio, and Enterprise Guide.
  13. Be experienced in data modelling, ETL concepts, data warehousing, and data quality management.
  14. Possess advanced Excel skills.
  15. Demonstrate proactive problem-solving, detailed data analysis, and presentation skills.
  16. Communicate technical information clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
  17. Operate effectively in a fast-changing environment, tackling issues proactively.
  18. Be confident in judgment and decision-making, viewing challenges as opportunities for growth.
  19. Have experience with SAS Viya, SAS Visual Analytics, SQL Server, Apache Airflow, and MS DevOps for workflows and CI/CD pipelines.
