Job summary

Lockton in the United Kingdom is seeking a data professional to join our analytics team. You will design, develop, and maintain Power BI reports and semantic models, and write scalable SQL to support reporting and decision-making.

You will collaborate with business stakeholders to translate requirements, analyse large datasets, and deliver insights that drive data-driven decisions across the organisation. This role also involves working with modern data platforms to enable strategic actions

Qualifications

• Power BI end-to-end development: ingestion, modelling and DAX.
• Strong SQL development, optimisation and data modelling.
• Advanced Excel: Power Query, Power Pivot, complex formulas.

Must Have Skills

Power BI

• End‑to‑end development of Power BI solutions, including:
• • Data ingestion and transformation (Power Query)

SQL & Data Analysis

• Strong SQL development skills, including query optimisation and troubleshooting.
• Solid understanding of relational database design and data modelling principles.
• Experience analysing large and complex datasets to identify trends and business opportunities.

Excel

• Advanced Excel skills, including:
• • Power Query
• • Power Pivot
• • Complex formulas and modelling techniques

Preferred Skills

• Experience working with Databricks in a modern data platform environment.
• Knowledge of dbt (Data Build Tool) for data transformation and modelling.
• Familiarity with cloud‑based data platforms, particularly Microsoft Azure.
• Experience working with data engineering or ETL pipelines.
• Exposure to version control and collaborative development practices (e.g., Git/GitHub).
• Experience working within financial services, insurance, or other highly regulated industries.
