Teaching and Learning

  • Teach French/Spanish subjects at Key Stage 3 and 4
  • Ensure lessons are engaging, inclusive, and meet curriculum requirements.
  • Set and assess homework and classwork in line with school policy.
  • Keep accurate records of student progress and provide timely feedback.
  • Participate in external and internal assessment processes.
  • Prepare and adapt learning materials and schemes of work.
  • Uphold school-wide expectations regarding punctuality, discipline, and standards.

Person Specification

Qualifications

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Degree and/or teaching qualification in French or Spanish
  • Evidence of recent and relevant professional development

Experience

  • Experience of teaching in a secondary school (11-16 or 11-18)
  • Ability to teach the following to KS3/4:
  • French
  • Spanish
  • Flexibility to contribute to other subject areas as needed
  • Proven record of supporting student progress and addressing underachievement

Teaching Skills

  • Strong subject knowledge and understanding of effective pedagogy
  • Awareness of current curriculum developments
  • High proficiency with IT and use of digital tools in education
  • Experience using data to plan interventions and improve student outcomes
