Job description

MFL Teacher (French and Spanish) – Long-Term Contract – Sittingbourne
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Full-Time, Fixed-Term or Long-Term Supply (Until July 2026)

Supply Desk are seeking a passionate and experienced MFL teacher, with the ability to teach both French and Spanish up to Key Stage 4, to join a large, co-educational secondary school in Sittingbourne. This role is available on a fixed-term or long-term supply basis, running from September 2025 through to the end of the academic year in July 2026.

About the Role:

You will take on full teaching responsibilities within a supportive and well-resourced MFL department, delivering engaging and inclusive lessons across KS3 and KS4 in both French and Spanish. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the success of a school that values collaboration and high standards in teaching and learning.

Key Responsibilities:

• Teaching: Deliver high-quality lessons in French and Spanish to students in Years 7–11, adapting to the needs of mixed-ability learners.
• Assessment: Monitor student progress, provide feedback, and implement strategies for continued improvement.
• Classroom Management: Establish a positive, inclusive classroom environment that promotes respect and enthusiasm for language learning.
• Collaboration: Work closely with the MFL team and wider staff to support department goals and whole-school initiatives.
• Engagement: Fully embrace all teacher responsibilities, including planning, marking, reports, and participation in parents’ evenings and school events.

The Ideal Candidate Will:

• Be a qualified MFL teacher with proven experience teaching both French and Spanish up to KS4.
• ECTs welcome as well as more experienced teachers.
• Be confident in planning and delivering creative, differentiated lessons to mixed-ability classes.
• Have a strong classroom presence and effective behaviour management skills.
• Be proactive, well-organised, and committed to student success.
• Be located in or near Sittingbourne, or able to reliably commute.
