Job summary

Corin Group is seeking a Metrology Engineer to support Quality and Manufacturing, providing full metrology across NPI, investigations, capability studies and process validation. Night shifts: Mon-Thu 22:00-05:45 and Fri 16:00-20:50, in Cirencester.

The role requires a Mechanical Engineering apprenticeship or strong inspection experience, with familiarity in CMMs, GD&T, and reporting. The position sits in a highly regulated medical environment with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Apprenticeship in mechanical engineering or equivalent inspection experience.
• Strong understanding of measurement techniques and GD&T.
• Ability to read engineering drawings.
• Experience with CMMs, vision systems and inspection tools.
• Proven problem-solving and report-writing skills.
• Ability to work independently or in a team.
• Experience in regulated medical/orthopaedic industry is desirable.

Metrology Engineer - Nights

We’re looking for a skilled Metrology Engineer to support our Quality and Manufacturing teams. You’ll provide full metrology services across NPI, product investigations, capability studies, and process validation. Working nights Monday to Thursday 22:00 - 5:45 and Friday16:00 - 20:50.

What you'll do

• Develop and implement new metrology solutions.
• Create and manage CMM and vision system programs.
• Support new measurement activities and produce related documentation.
• Perform first article inspections and reporting.
• Calibrate gauges and measurement equipment.
• Work to ISO13485, GMP and FDA 21 CFR Part 820 requirements.
• Support CAPA activities within required timelines.

About You

• Mechanical Engineering apprenticeship or strong inspection experience.
• Excellent understanding of measurement techniques and first‑principle metrology.
• Able to interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
• Competent with CMMs, vision systems, and inspection tools (MCOSMOS desirable).
• Strong problem‑solving and report‑writing skills.
• Accurate, organised, proactive, and confident working independently or in a team.
• The ability to identify, analyze and resolve measurement issues and generate solutions.
• The ability to make informed decisions in relation to conformity.The ability to create Technical Reports.
• Experience of working in Medical, Orthopaedic or a highly regulated industry (desirable)
