Job summary

PlanetRecruitment is recruiting two Metrology Technicians for a well-established manufacturing business in Oxfordshire. You will perform dimensional inspections and support development, validation, production and quality requirements.

Ideal candidates have metrology, inspection, quality assurance or precision engineering experience and familiarity with OGP systems. You will work with Engineering, Production and Quality teams to ensure accurate measurements and robust data.

Qualifications

• Previous experience within metrology, inspection, quality assurance or precision engineering.
• Experience using OGP measurement systems would be highly desirable.
• Good practical experience using manual measuring equipment, including verniers, micrometers and gauges.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications and tolerances.
• Methodical, detail-focused approach to inspection and problem-solving.
• Able to work independently while following quality procedures and inspection standards.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Carry out dimensional inspections using OGP measurement systems and manual equipment.
• Create, maintain and optimise OGP inspection programmes.
• Inspect components against drawings, specifications and tolerances.
• Identify, record and escalate non-conforming results.
• Collaborate with Production, Quality and Engineering to resolve measurement queries.
• Maintain accurate inspection records and ensure repeatable methods.
• Support development and improvement of inspection methods and processes.
• Manage multiple inspection requirements in a busy manufacturing environment.

Salary: GBP29000 - GBP29000 per annum

Location: Oxfordshire
Contract: 6 or 12 Month Fixed-Term Contract
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Salary: Competitive, depending on experience

We are currently recruiting for two Metrology Technicians to join a well-established and innovative manufacturing business based in Oxfordshire.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in metrology, dimensional inspection, quality or precision engineering to join a highly technical manufacturing environment.

The Role

As a Metrology Technician, you will be responsible for carrying out dimensional inspection activities to support development, validation, production and quality requirements. You will work closely with Engineering, Production and Quality teams to ensure components are accurately inspected and measurement data is robust and reliable.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out dimensional inspections using OGP measurement systems and a range of manual inspection equipment.

Create, maintain and optimise OGP inspection programmes.

Inspect components against engineering drawings, specifications and dimensional tolerances.

Identify, record and escalat non-conforming results.

Work closely with Production, Quality and Engineering teams to resolve measurement queries.

Maintain accurate inspection records and ensure inspection methods are consistent and repeatable.

Support the development and improvement of inspection methods and processes.

Manage multiple inspection requirements within a busy manufacturing environment.

About You

The successful candidate will ideally have:

Previous experience within metrology, inspection, quality assurance or precision engineering.

Experience using OGP measurement systems would be highly desirable.
