Job summary

M Group Energy is seeking Meter Readers for Kingston and Sutton on a temporary, ongoing basis. You will join the Metering team to read meters, ensure accurate billing, and support field operations.

From training to field work, you’ll plan routes, access meters (inside or outside), and travel across properties. You’ll read meters, record data precisely, and maintain excellent customer service in a self-motivated role with team support.

Qualifications

• Must have a full UK driving licence.
• Ability to walk several miles every day.
• Comfortable working outdoors and in all weather conditions.
• Demonstrates good customer service and safety awareness.

Responsibilities

• Initial training followed by field deployment.
• Plan routes using handheld device and determine meter access (inside/outside).
• Read meters accurately and record data, maintaining customer relations.
• Work independently with support from field manager and team.
• Be prepared to travel on foot or by vehicle across properties in allocated areas.

Job description

We are looking for Meter Readers for our client based in Kingston and Sutton.

This is a temporary contract but will be on-going.

Shifts: Hours available between Monday to Sunday 8am to 8pm

We provide an end-to-end service, delivering solutions in electricity transmission, distribution, renewable energy, EV, metering and home decarbonisation.

This role will be within our Metering team. You'll join the leading provider of metering services in the UK energy retail sector, we provide efficient and flexible services for gas, electricity and water meters.

Our meter readers install, maintain and manage meters to make sure customers are billed correctly and energy usage patterns are monitored.

What will you be doing?

Initially you'll take part in our structured training program, before moving out into the field. Start your day by signing into your handheld device & planning your route. Meters can be inside or outside properties, so you'll need to choose what time you're more likely to gain access to an inside meter. You'll spend your day walking or driving (depending on the area you cover) from property to property, always ensuring your own and customers' safety.

Once you arrive, you'll read the meters and record the information accurately, dealing with members of the public and ensuring excellent customer service. You work on your own quickly and efficiently in an independent role, always with the support of your field manager and wider metering team. Come rain or shine you'll brave the elements to get the job done.

• You’ll be self-motivated & energetic ideally (but not essential) from a background where you are used to driving, managing appointments & working outdoors.
