Job summary

Pertemps Thames Water is seeking a full-time Laboratory Analyst for the Metals team in Reading. The role involves drying and grinding soil and sludge samples, preparing them for instrument analysis, and progressively handling Metals analyses and reporting results within QA standards.

A strong emphasis on accuracy, safety, and learning through progression schemes is expected. The position offers a clear progression path, with attendance to safety and quality systems, and requires at least A-level

Qualifications

• Minimum of A-level education with science experience.
• Science degree is advantageous but not required.
• Experience in a routine sample testing or laboratory environment would be beneficial but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Physically dry and grind customer soil and sludge samples.
• Prepare samples for analysis and instrumentation.
• Analyze Metals samples and report test results within required timeframes according to procedures and standards.
• Proactively improve skills and knowledge via progression schemes.
• Maintain records and ensure accuracy, safety and data integrity.
