Job summary

Paralloy Limited is seeking a testing and analytical technician to ensure that metal products are tested to specification and KPI targets are met. The role entails sample preparation, chemical analysis, and reporting for quality control.

The successful candidate will operate analytical instruments, maintain daily QC, and participate in corrective actions to maintain safety and efficiency in the plant.

Responsibilities

• Prepare cast samples for testing.
• Operate ARL Spectrometer and LECO oxygen/nitrogen determinator.
• Prepare reports (Daily, weekly, monthly) to KPI departments.
• Analyse test results and decide actions in line with QC documentation.
• Daily equipment standardisation.
• Understand effects of chemical results and apply corrective actions.
• Calculate charges to least cost mix using Optimat System.
• Print documentation for shop floor QC.
• Data entry of materials into Optimat.
• Check quality and safety of materials.
• Stock level control.
• Report to departments KPI’s.

About The Role

Principle Function:

• To provide an effective testing and analytical service to the plant ensuring that the products manufactured are tested to specification on time and plant quality, cost and safety goals are met.
• To prepare and test metal samples for chemical analysis.
• Change calculations / metal stack control

Duties & Responsibilities

Chemical Analysis

• Prepare cast samples in suitable manner for testing.
• Operation of ARL Spectrometer & LECO oxygen and nitrogen determinator.
• Prepare reports ( Daily, weekly,monthly) to departments KPI’s.
• Analyse test results and make decisions on results inline with relevant contract QC documentation.
• Daily equipment standardisation.
• Understand effects of chemical results & apply corrective and preventative actions.

Charge Calculations

• Calculation of charges to least cost mix using Optimat System.
• Printing documentation for shop floor QC.
• Reporting on daily, weekly monthly to departments KPI’s

Material Control

• Responsible for data entry of internal and external generated materials into Optimat.
• Checking quality of materials – fitness for use, safety for use (No damp, oily, greasy contaminated materials)
• Raw material control
• Stock level control.
• Reporting on daily, weekly monthly to departments KPI’s

Essential Skills and Attributes:

• Good communication skills.
