Job summary

Thames Water in Reading is seeking a Laboratory Team Leader Metals to lead a five-analyst Metals team overseeing ICP‑OES, Radiochemistry and Fluoride testing. You’ll plan workloads, keep equipment running, and authorise results to ISO17025 DWTS and MCERTS standards.

You’ll develop the team, drive quality, and contribute to department strategy while ensuring health & safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Degree in science or extensive analytical chemistry experience.
• Experience operating ICP-OES or similar systems.
• Strong understanding of QC/QA in a laboratory setting.
• Leadership potential and ability to develop a team.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of five analysts in metals testing, planning workloads and delivering results.
• Oversee ICP‑OES, Radiochemistry and Fluoride testing to regulatory standards.
• Authorise results and maintain ISO17025 DWTS and MCERTS compliance.
• Support team development and help shape the department's future.
