Job summary

ALS is seeking an experienced Laboratory Manager for the Base Metals laboratory in Prescot. You will lead a small team, ensure ISO 17025 and UKAS compliance, manage workflow and resources, and drive continuous improvement in quality and efficiency.

The role requires a Chemistry degree or equivalent, plus 5+ years in laboratory operations and strong leadership, with a focus on safety and diagnostic excellence. Mon-Fri, 37.5 hours, full time.

Qualifications

• Degree in Chemistry or related scientific discipline with 5+ years in lab operations.
• Experience leading a small lab team and managing quality systems.
• Familiarity with ISO 17025 and UKAS requirements.
• Strong organisational and priority-management skills.
