Job summary

Senior Aerospace Thermal Engineering is seeking an adaptable operator to support the manufacture of thermal insulation components. You will work on presses, cutting and assembling materials to meet customer specifications, while following SOPs and safety procedures.

The role requires manual dexterity, attention to detail, and the ability to read technical data sheets. You will join a team committed to quality, continuous improvement, and meeting production targets in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Right to work in the UK without sponsorship.
• Able to learn basic computer skills.
• Able to read and interpret technical documentation, visual aids and data sheets.
• High attention to detail.
• Excellent manual dexterity (Hands on work).
• Team player.
• Flexible in working hours to undertake variable shift patterns and support business needs by working overtime when required.
• Punctual.
• Previous experience of working within an assembly environment and/or metallic insulations.
• Experience within a manufacturing environment would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Use of power presses/ fly press / Guillotine / Corrugator.
• Use of etch machine to etch labels.
• Cutting raw material to templates or measurements.
• Following SOPs/ Ti’s / Route cards.
• Following an automated WTL.
• Ensuring stock control.
• Accurately interpret and complete production route cards (Technical Instructions, Standard Operating Procedures and Data Sheets).
• Maintain good housekeeping standards of the work area implementing Safety + 5 S methods (Sort, Set, Standardise, Shine, Sustain).
• Achieve company work & quality standards by applying your skills and knowledge and taking pride in your work.
• Participate in team-based activities to meet productivity and on time delivery targets.
• Work in line with Company Values (Safety, Accountability, Respect & Trust, Integrity, Excellence, Customer Focus) and demonstrate the associated behaviours in your daily work.
• Consistently follow Health, Safety & Environmental procedures, including wearing required PPE.
• Complete training as required and apply the learning in performing operations to demonstrate competence.
• Perform all reasonable requests made by management.

Job Description

Purpose of the Role:

Supporting the manufacture of thermal insulation components including ducts, pipes, blankets and stretch formed material to ensure they conform to customer requirements.

• Use of power presses/ fly press / Guillotine / Corrugator
• Use of etch machine to etch labels
• Cutting raw material to templates or measurements
• Following SOP’s/ Ti’s / Route cards
• Following an automated WTL
• Ensuring stock control
