Job summary

Interaction Recruitment is recruiting for a Metal Polisher / Grinder in Seaforth, Liverpool. The role involves grinding, polishing, and finishing metal components in a busy workshop for a sheet metal engineering company.

You’ll prepare surfaces and inspect parts to high standards, with both independent and team work in a day-shift, Monday to Friday schedule. Ideal candidates have experience in metal finishing, stainless steel familiarity, and a strong eye for detail.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in metal polishing, grinding or metal finishing.
• Experience working within a sheet metal or engineering environment.
• Confident using hand tools and power tools.
• Reliable, hardworking and punctual.

Responsibilities

• Grinding, polishing and finishing metal components.
• Removing welds, burrs and imperfections from fabricated parts.
• Using hand and power tools including grinders and polishers.
• Preparing metal surfaces for finishing.
• Working with stainless steel and other sheet metal materials.
• Inspecting finished components to meet quality standards.
• Working from drawings and job specifications where required.
• Maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
• Following all company health and safety procedures.

Metal Polisher / Grinder

Location: Seaforth, Liverpool
Pay Rate: Competitive, depending on experience
Hours: Monday to Friday – Days
Employment: Temporary to Permanent

About the Role

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Metal Polisher / Grinder to join our client, a well-established sheet metal engineering company based in Seaforth.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous experience in metal finishing, polishing, grinding or sheet metal fabrication who is looking for a long-term position with the opportunity to secure a permanent role.

You will be working within a busy engineering workshop, preparing and finishing sheet metal components to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities

• Grinding, polishing and finishing metal components
• Removing welds, burrs and imperfections from fabricated parts
• Using hand and power tools including grinders and polishers
• Preparing metal surfaces ready for finishing
• Working with stainless steel, mild steel and other sheet metal materials
• Inspecting finished components to ensure they meet the required quality standards
• Working from drawings and job specifications where required
• Maintaining a clean and safe working environment
• Following all company health and safety procedures

Requirements

• Previous experience in metal polishing, grinding or metal finishing
• Experience working within a sheet metal or engineering environment
• Confident using hand tools and power tools
• Good attention to detail and pride in the quality of your work
• Reliable, hardworking and punctual
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
• Previous experience working with stainless steel would be advantageous
