Job summary

Eaton Corporation in Fareham, UK is seeking a manufacturing technician for our automated plating line within the Manufacturing Finishing Department. The role may become multi-functional to cover all plating, preparation and masking tasks.

Candidates should maintain safety and apply 5S discipline while contributing to cost-saving ideas. Experience in heat treatment and knowledge of plating processes are advantageous, as is MS Office proficiency and any health and safety qualifications.

Job description

Reporting to Team Leaders and Manufacturing Team Manager the role is primarily for our automated plating line but may become multi functional to carry out for all forms of plating, preparing and masking of parts within Manufacturing Finishing Department (MFD). Flexibility and a positive attitude is required., Produce work within cost.

• Drives and sustains an attitude to continuous improvement as defined by Eaton standards.
• Maintain a safe working environment and adopts a 5S approach to working.
• Initiate cost saving and new ideas.
• To be co-operative and flexible.
• Must adhere to all Eaton EHS, Quality and training requirements.
• To work within a team.
• To interpret engineering drawings and applicable aerospace plating specifications.

Experience

• Must have previous experience in Heat Treatment.- alachrome, chromic and sulphuric processes
• Chemical storage, safety and use.
• Problem solving and root cause analysis.

Qualifications

• Any relevant qualifications in plating would be an advantage.
• Computer literate in MS office.
• Any relevant health and safety qualifications would be an advantage.
