Job summary

Tru Talent is seeking a talented MET Technician for a leading bodyshop in York. You will repair damaged vehicles to manufacturer specifications using state-of-the-art equipment, ensuring quality and safety.

The role requires an apprenticeship in MET, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and experience with geometry/4-wheel alignment. Competitive salary up to £55,000 and achievable bonuses are available.

Qualifications

• Recognised apprenticeship as a MET Technician/MET Strip Fitter/Car Fitter/Strip & Fit Technician.
• Technical qualification (NVQ / ATA / IMI / SVQ).
• Previous experience in a busy bodyshop environment.
• Experience with Geometry work and 4-wheel alignment.
• Up-to-date knowledge of vehicle repair techniques.
• Diagnostic training.
• Self-motivated and a strong team player.

Responsibilities

• Work efficiently in a fast-paced accident repair centre.
• Follow the correct repair techniques and produce work in line with factory specifications and customer satisfaction.
• Conduct detailed inspections to diagnose mechanical and electrical issues.
• Repair or replace damaged mechanical, electrical, and trim components.
• Disassemble and reassemble vehicle parts as needed.
• Use diagnostic equipment to identify and fix issues in the vehicle's systems.
• Perform quality checks to ensure repairs meet industry standards.
• Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient workflow.
• Maintain accurate records of all work performed.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and standards.
