Job summary

Octane Recruitment Limited is seeking an experienced MET Technician for a leading accident repair centre in Luton. The role covers mechanical, electrical and trim work on damaged vehicles, with a strong focus on diagnostics and manufacturer standards.

The position offers a four-day week, a £25.04 hourly rate plus an uncapped monthly bonus, and 23 days holiday plus holidays. Ongoing training and progression are provided in a supportive workshop environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as an MET Technician, Mechanical Electrical Trim Technician or Strip and Fit Technician.
• Experience within an automotive bodyshop or accident repair centre.
• Strong mechanical, electrical and vehicle repair knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Strip and refit mechanical, electrical and trim components on accident-damaged vehicles.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults.
• Remove and refit bumpers, dashboards, suspension and interior trim.
• Carry out vehicle repairs in line with manufacturer specifications.
• Inspect vehicles and identify additional damage or repair requirements.

We are recruiting for an experienced MET Technician, Mechanical Electrical Trim Technician or Strip and Fit Technician to join a leading accident repair centre in Luton. Applicants must have previous MET experience within a bodyshop or accident repair environment, with strong mechanical, electrical and trim repair skills.

Location: Luton, Bedfordshire

Salary: Up to £60,069 per annum

Hourly Rate: £25.04 + Uncapped Monthly Bonus

Hours: Monday to Thursday, 11:00am - 10:45pm

MET Technician Role

• Strip and refit mechanical, electrical and trim components on accident-damaged vehicles
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults
• Remove and refit bumpers, dashboards, suspension and interior trim
• Carry out vehicle repairs in line with manufacturer specifications
• Inspect vehicles and identify additional damage or repair requirements
• Work closely with Panel Beaters, Paint Technicians and Vehicle Damage Assessors
• Maintain high standards of workmanship, quality and Health & Safety

MET Technician Requirements

• Previous experience as an MET Technician, Mechanical Electrical Trim Technician or Strip and Fit Technician
• Experience within an automotive bodyshop or accident repair centre
• Strong mechanical, electrical and vehicle repair knowledge
• Ability to strip, repair and rebuild accident-damaged vehicles
• Good diagnostic and fault-finding skills
• Ability to work efficiently as part of a busy workshop team
• Willingness to work the Monday-to-Thursday twilight shift
