Job summary

Auto Skills UK is seeking an experienced MET Technician in Oldham to repair accident-damaged vehicles to factory standards. The role focuses on mechanical, electrical and trim work within a modern workshop, ensuring safety and quality in every repair.

You will remove, refit and diagnose faults, work with a skilled team, and follow OEM repair methods. A strong drive for accuracy and safety will support your ongoing career development in a busy, professional bodyshop.

Qualifications

• MET Technician experience in an accident repair centre or bodyshop.
• Ability to diagnose faults and work with modern vehicle systems.
• UK driving licence preferred.
• High attention to detail and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Remove and refit mechanical, electrical and trim components on accident-damaged vehicles.
• Strip and rebuild vehicles to facilitate panel repairs, structural work and refinishing.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical faults identified during the repair process.
• Carry out repairs and component replacement involving suspension, steering, braking and other vehicle systems.
• Identify additional damage and communicate findings to the VDA or Workshop Controller.
• Work closely with Panel Technicians, Paint Sprayers and the workshop team to maintain efficiency.
• Complete post-repair checks to ensure components and systems function correctly and safely.
• Follow manufacturer repair methods, quality standards and Health & Safety procedures.
