Job summary

Autoskills-Uk in St Albans is seeking a MET Technician (Mechanical, Electrical & Trim) to join a busy workshop. The role offers a basic salary of £50,000–£55,000 with an OTE of £70,000 and a Monday–Friday shift pattern.

You will remove, refit and replace mechanical, electrical and trim components during vehicle repairs, ensuring safe, high-quality reassembly following accident damage repairs. A recognised Level 3 qualification is required and ongoing CPD is expected.

Qualifications

• Recognised apprenticeship or Level 3 qualification in Vehicle Mechanical, Electrical & Trim (NVQ / IMI / SVQ / VRQ / ATA or equivalent).
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high standards of workmanship.
• Reliable, organised and able to work effectively as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Removing and refitting mechanical, electrical and trim components.
• Carrying out strip-down and rebuild work to support vehicle repair processes.
• Identifying damaged components and reporting any additional work required.
• Working with other technicians to ensure repairs progress efficiently.
• Ensuring components are correctly fitted and aligned.
• Following manufacturer repair procedures and safety requirements.
• Maintaining high standards of workmanship and workshop safety.
