Duties of a MET Technician
- Removal of damaged panels and parts to facilitate repairs, ensuring safe storage
- Inspection of vehicles for additional damage and ordering necessary parts
- Refitting repaired or replaced panels with precision to manufacturer tolerances
- Replacement of mechanical components, including steering, drivetrain, and engine parts when necessary
- Resetting vehicle control units using diagnostic equipment
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation and internal procedures
- Maintaining tools and equipment to high standards
- Attending safety training sessions and supporting colleagues during busy periods
- Performing other duties as required by the role
Requirements of a MET Technician
- Recognised qualification in automotive MET or vehicle body repair preferred; individuals working towards IMI certification considered
- Strong track record in vehicle body repair, strip and fit, or experience as a Vehicle Technician seeking a transition into body repair
- Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and follow detailed instructions
- Proactive approach with the ability to prioritise workload effectively
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team
- A valid UK driving licence with minimal points
