Job summary

Qualifications

• Recognised MET qualification or relevant automotive repair experience.

Responsibilities

• Remove, repair and refit mechanical, electrical and trim components on a wide range of vehicles.
• Conduct diagnostics, calibrations and four-wheel alignments where required.
• Follow manufacturer repair methods and company procedures to high standards.
• Work with new vehicle technologies including electric/hybrid models.

We are seeking a highly skilled Vehicle MET Technician to join our client's reputable accident repair centre in Swansea. The successful Vehicle MET Technician will play a crucial part in delivering high-quality repair work on a variety of vehicle makes and models, including electric and hybrid vehicles.

Duties of a MET Technician

• Remove, repair, and refit mechanical, electrical, and trim components on a wide range of vehicles
• Conduct vehicle diagnostics, calibration, and four-wheel alignments where required
• Carry out repairs following manufacturer repair methods, industry standards, and company procedures
• Work with the latest vehicle technologies, including electric and hybrid models
• Identify additional damage and communicate repair requirements effectively to team members
• Ensure the highest standards of vehicle care and customer satisfaction throughout the repair process
• Collaborate with Panel Technicians, Paint Technicians, Vehicle Damage Assessors, and Production Teams
• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment compliant with Health & Safety and COSHH regulations

Requirements of a MET Technician

• Recognised qualification in automotive MET or vehicle body repair, or working towards an IMI qualification
• Consideration given to individuals with proven experience in vehicle body repair/strip and fit, even without formal qualifications
• Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
• Skilled at prioritising workload and using initiative effectively
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Full UK driving licence with minimal points
