Perfect Placement is seeking an experienced MET Technician for an automotive repair centre in Plymouth, Devon. The role focuses on high-quality vehicle repairs and restorations within a supportive team environment.

You will handle removal, refit, and replacement of mechanical and electrical components following manufacturer guidance, ensuring safety and accuracy throughout the process. Progression opportunities and ongoing training are available to skilled technicians.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an MET Technician in an automotive repair environment.
• Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and trim vehicle systems.
• Ability to interpret repair estimates and technical instructions accurately.
• Attention to detail and commitment to high standards of quality.

Responsibilities

• Carry out removal, refit, and replacement of mechanical, electrical, and trim components on vehicles following repair procedures and manufacturer guidance.
• Support vehicle dismantling and reassembly, ensuring accuracy and adherence to safety standards.
• Identify and report any additional damage or parts requirements during repairs.
• Ensure all parts for repairs are available, correctly matched, and securely fitted.
• Conduct quality checks and test vehicle systems to confirm repair integrity before customer handover.
• Maintain high standards of health and safety, working in a tidy and safe environment.
• Assist the team with additional tasks as required within your capability and as directed by management.

• Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and trim vehicle systems
• Ability to interpret repair estimates and technical instructions accurately
• Attention to detail and commitment to high standards of quality
• Capable of working effectively independently and within a team
• Knowledge of workshop health and safety responsibilities
• IMI Accreditation in MET is preferred but not essential
• Experience in a bodyshop or accident repair centre is desirable
• Familiarity with modern vehicle systems and safety features
