Job summary

INDBS is seeking a skilled MET Technician to join a leading body shop in West Sussex. You will repair damaged vehicles to exact manufacturers' specifications in a state-of-the-art facility, using modern equipment and techniques.

The ideal candidate will have a recognised MET apprenticeship and current diagnostic training, with experience in geometry work, wheel alignment, and a strong commitment to quality and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Recognised apprenticeship as MET Strip Fitter / MET Technician with a technical qualification (NVQ/ATA/IMI/SVQ).
• Experience as MET Technician in a busy body shop and strong team player.
• Experience with geometry work and 4 wheel alignment.
• Up-to-date knowledge of vehicle repair techniques; diagnostic training.

Responsibilities

• Work in a fast-paced accident repair centre following factory specifications.
• Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical and electrical components.
• Disassemble and reassemble vehicle parts and maintain records.
• Use diagnostic equipment and ensure quality checks meet standards.
• Collaborate with the team to maintain workflow and safety.

Job Description:

Our client is looking for a talented and efficient MET Strip Fitter / MET Technician to join this leading team. You will be repairing damaged vehicles in line with the manufacturers' specifications within a state of the art body shop, utilising modern equipment and techniques.

Qualifications required for an MET Strip Fitter / MET Technician:

• Will have served a recognised apprenticeship as a MET Strip Fitter / MET Technician and gained a technical qualification (such as NVQ / ATA /IMI/ SVQ)
• Must have previous experience working as a MET Technician / MET Strip Fitter within a busy body shop and be a strong team player with a self-motivation to earn bonus hours
• Have experience with Geometry work and 4 wheel Alignment
• Will work to the highest standard and demonstrate a sound up-to-date knowledge of vehicle repair techniques
• Diagnostic training

Duties of an MET Strip Fitter / MET Technician:

• Work efficiently in a fast-paced accident repair centre
• Follow the correct repair techniques and produce work in line with factory specifications and customer satisfaction
• Conduct detailed inspections to diagnose mechanical and electrical issues.
• Repair or replace damaged mechanical, electrical, and trim components.
• Disassemble and reassemble vehicle parts as needed.
• Use diagnostic equipment to identify and fix issues in the vehicle's systems.
• Perform quality checks to ensure repairs meet industry standards.
• Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient workflow.
• Maintain accurate records of all work performed.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and standards.
