Job summary

Tru Talent is seeking a skilled MET Technician in the East Midlands to repair vehicles to manufacturer specs in a modern bodyshop. You will diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, disassemble/reassemble components and ensure high-quality standards.

The role requires a recognised MET apprenticeship or NVQ/ATA/IMI/SVQ, with experience in a busy bodyshop and 4-wheel alignment knowledge. Competitive salary up to £50,000 and achievable bonus are on offer.

Qualifications

• Apprenticeship completed as MET Strip Fitter / MET Technician.
• NVQ/ATA/IMI/SVQ recognised technical qualifications.
• Experience in a busy bodyshop environment is essential.

Responsibilities

• Repair or replace damaged mechanical, electrical and trim components.
• Disassemble and reassemble vehicle parts as needed and follow factory specs.
• Use diagnostic equipment to identify and fix issues in the vehicle systems.
• Maintain accurate records and follow safety protocols.

MET Technician

Location:East Midlands

Basic Salary:Up to £50,000

Hours:Mon-Fri, 40h week

Our client is looking for a talented and efficientMET Strip Fitter / MET Technicianto join a leading team. You will be repairing damaged vehicles in line with manufacturer specifications in a state-of-the-art body shop, using the latest equipment and techniques.

Key Responsibilities of an MET Strip Fitter / MET Technician:

• Work efficiently in a fast-paced accident repair centre
• Follow the correct repair techniques and produce work in line with factory specifications and customer satisfaction
• Conduct detailed inspections to diagnose mechanical and electrical issues
• Repair or replace damaged mechanical, electrical, and trim components
• Disassemble and reassemble vehicle parts as needed
• Use diagnostic equipment to identify and fix issues in the vehicle's systems
• Perform quality checks to ensure repairs meet industry standards
• Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient workflow
• Maintain accurate records of all work performed
• Adhere to all safety protocols and standards

Essential Skills and Qualifications for an MET Strip Fitter / MET Technician:

• Recognised apprenticeship as aMET Strip Fitter / MET Technician
• Technical qualification (NVQ / ATA / IMI / SVQ)
• Previous experience in a busy bodyshop environment
• Experience with Geometry work and 4-wheel alignment
• Up-to-date knowledge of vehicle repair techniques
