Job summary

Tru Talent is seeking an MET Technician to join our busy Wakefield bodyshop. You will perform MET stripping, fitting and related repairs to factory specifications, using modern equipment and techniques.

The role requires an apprenticeship in MET or equivalent qualification, hands-on experience in a busy bodyshop, and strong diagnostic skills. You will work in a supportive team focused on quality and safety, with a 40-hour week and achievable bonuses.

Qualifications

• Apprenticeship or equivalent MET qualification.
• NVQ/ATA/IMI/SVQ recognised MET qualification.
• Experience in a busy bodyshop environment.
• Experience with geometry work and 4-wheel alignment.
• Up-to-date knowledge of vehicle repair techniques.
• Diagnostic training and problem-solving ability.
• Self-motivated with good teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Work efficiently in a fast-paced accident repair centre.
• Follow repair techniques in line with factory specifications and customer expectations.
• Conduct inspections to diagnose mechanical and electrical issues.
• Repair or replace damaged mechanical and electrical components.
• Disassemble and reassemble vehicle parts as needed.
• Use diagnostic equipment to identify issues in vehicle systems.
• Perform quality checks to ensure repairs meet standards.
• Collaborate with team to maintain workflow.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed.
• Adhere to safety protocols and standards.

Our client is looking for a talented and efficient MET Technician/ MET Strip Fitter / Car Fitter / Strip &Fit Technician to join a leading team. You will be repairing damaged vehicles in line with manufacturer specifications in a state-of-the-art body shop, using the latest equipment and techniques.
