Job summary

Siemens Healthineers is seeking a Workshop Manager to lead the MES Workshop in a hospital environment, delivering engineering support for the MES contract and ensuring attainment of KPIs. The role emphasizes LEAN practices, staff development, and compliance with quality, H&S, and regulatory standards.

You will manage engineers, liaise with NHS staff and external service stakeholders, and drive continual improvements while supporting the management team as needed.

Qualifications

• Electronics, Medical or Engineering Degree or HNC (or equivalent).
• Minimum 5 years’ MES/EBME workshop experience in a hospital setting.
• Strong knowledge of engineering principles and service delivery.
• Experience in meeting SLAs and customer satisfaction targets.
• Proven mentorship and leadership skills.
• Experience troubleshooting and repairing electro-medical equipment.
• Ability to design and implement process improvements.
• Good written and verbal communication.
• Proficient in Microsoft tools and service-management software.

Responsibilities

• Lead the MES Workshop in line with contractual obligations, processes and targets.
• Act as Line Manager to engineers, conduct development dialogues and mentor staff.
• Manage contracts SLAs and KPIs to ensure compliance with customer expectations.
• Compile data for Monthly Management Reports and cover in the MES Manager's absence.
• Ensure compliance with Work Instructions, Quality Procedures, Health & Safety guidelines and regulatory requirements.
• Contribute to Quality Management System and participate in audits as required.
• Achieve Customer Satisfaction targets and maintain strong customer relationships.
• Develop relationships with NHS clinicians, staff and management across levels.
• Support MES Engineers through training and professional development.
• Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
• Attend/lead meetings with customers, teams and suppliers as required.
